A published author, developmental book editor, and partner publisher, Anne Louise O’Connell was an expat for 25 years, leaving the cold of Canada for warmer climes with stops in Florida, Dubai and Thailand. For 17 years she worked in the PR field and then in 2007, she decided to take the leap and work for herself. In 2016, upon her return to Canada, she established OC Publishing. In between doing developmental editing for clients and working on her next novel, she mentors other authors from idea to completed manuscript, partner publishes their books and helps them build their author platforms. Anne writes mystery & suspense novels and her first book, Mental Pause, won a Bronze IPPY (Independent Publisher Magazine Award) for best adult fiction. Her second novel, Deep Deceit, is the first in an amateur detective series (now on hold while she assists other authors in the writing and publishing process). Anne grew up in Halifax, Nova Scotia and has a Bachelor of Public Relations and a certificate in Early Childhood Education from Mount St. Vincent University. She blogs at http://www.anne-writingjustbecause.blogspot.com/, and while living as an expat, wrote many columns for Expat Focus, contributed to Global Living Magazine and the Wall St. Journal Expat Blog.
